QUIT ASKING FOR A TIP WHEN ALL YOU DID WAS RING UP MY PURCHASE
Thursday Jul 11, 2024
Thursday Jul 11, 2024
We opened the show by jumping down an unexpected rabbit hole discussing how out of control tipping and "tip culture" has gotten at non-restaurant, bar and traditional tip to insure prompt service type of industries. We also discussed establishments charging automatic gratuity for parties as small as 2 and also passing the debit / credit card processing fee's on to the customer (which I have no problem with personally, I guess it's the business owner in me)

THURSDAY W/ SHAUN YURTKURAN - FULL SHOW (Ep #791)
Thursday Jul 11, 2024
Thursday Jul 11, 2024
Shaun Yurtkuran returns for the his first show since last Wednesday, you guys are going to want to listen to this whole show because we had what I think was one of our top 5 best Clay Edwards Show's of ALL-TIME!!
1- We opened the show by jumping down an unexpected rabbit hole discussing how out of control tipping and "tip culture" has gotten at non-restaurant, bar and traditional tip to insure prompt service type of industries. We also discussed establishments charging automatic gratuity for parties as small as 2 and also passing the debit / credit card processing fee's on to the customer (which I have no problem with personally, I guess it's the business owner in me)
2. We jump into the whole Democrat donor class and media piling on Joe Biden to step aside while his camp are firmly stating that he is not stepping down. Shaun is very upset with the way the Democrats have handled this and finally say's publicly that for the first time in his life he's going to vote Republican (for Trump) as an F-YOU to the Democrat party for how they've screwed this whole thing up covering for then turning on Joe Biden when they knew they should have pulled the cord much sooner and allowed Democracy to run it's course and let the people pick who they wanted to run for president on the Democrat ticket.
3. Donald J. Trump is completely reshaping the Republican party into his image (for better or worse depending on your opinion), the new Republican party official platform moved closer to the center with supporting gay marriage for the first time ever as well as not pursuing a national abortion ban and respecting the supreme courts decision to let states make the decision on abortion. It's created a bit of a civil war between the Evangelical conservatives and what I call the "Barstool, Small government conservatives".
4. I make the case for Kamala Harris deserving an opportunity to be the Democrat candidate, I still think her politics and morals are trash but I don't think she's the idiot the media or her public speaking flops paint her to be. I think she was set up for failure as a powerplay by the Biden team and it's now blown up in everyone's (expect Biden of course because this is exactly why they chose her)
5. We finish off the show with some text messages from the Guns-N-Gear text line and a a battle royal phone call between Kingfish & Shaun over Kamala and the new Republican party platform.

Thursday Jul 11, 2024
Looks like Scott county just had on of the most diverse and equitable meth bust I've ever seen, shattering the narrative that meth is a white only drug.
SCOTT COUNTY, Miss. (WLBT) - Six people have been arrested in connection with a drug bust in Scott County.
On Tuesday, the Scott County Sheriff’s Office Narcotics Task Force and SWAT team, assisted by agents with the Mississippi Bureau of Narcotics, executed a search warrant for a home in the 6000 block of Highway 35 North in Hillsboro.
During the search, a “significant amount” of methamphetamine was discovered in the home and in a camper behind the home.
Author Johnson, Reginald Williams, George Allen, Sherry Coonce, Kimberly Harris, and Sammy Anderson were all arrested.

SUPREME COURT MAKES LIFE HARDER FORTHE HOMELESS, WILL JXN TOUGHEN UP ON THEM NOW?
Thursday Jul 11, 2024
Thursday Jul 11, 2024
JACKSON, Miss. (WLBT) - The ruling on the case Grants Pass Vs. Johnson is the biggest decision on homelessness America has seen at a national level in decades. It gives some power back to the cities to establish their own punishments for people sleeping and camping outside.
But will it fix the problem? One Jackson homelessness organization doesn’t think so.
“If a city decides to exercise its right to penalize somebody for their position in life. That’s a terrible place to be,” Andre Devine, Executive Director of Hearts for the Homeless, said.
Devine couldn’t believe the Supreme Court’s decision to allow cities to create their own punishments for those who sleep or camp in public places.

In 2010, Justice Sotomayor joined a dissenting opinion in McDonald v. Chicago that stated, “In sum, the Framers did not write the Second Amendment in order to protect a private right of armed self-defense.” Meanwhile, Sotomayor’s armed security team just sh*t a would-be carjacker outside her house. Yet, regular citizens don’t have the right to private armed self defense in her view. Rules for thee and not for me.
From The Daily Beast: Two deputy U.S. Marshals thought to be guarding Supreme Court Justice Sonia Sotomayor’s home in Washington, D.C. shot a suspected carjacker who pulled out a gun last week, officials said. The U.S. Marshals office said that suspect Kentrell Flowers, 18, allegedly walked up to one of the deputies’ cars at around 1:15 a.m. on July 5 and pointed a gun at the bodyguard. The Marshal fired four shots, hitting Flowers in the mouth. Flowers was taken to hospital for treatment and arrested. “The Deputy U.S. Marshals involved in the shooting incident were part of the unit protecting the residences of U.S. Supreme Court justices. As a general practice, the U.S. Marshals don’t discuss specifics of protective details,” Abigail Meyer, a spokesperson for the U.S. Marshals Service, said in a statement to The Hill. Authorities have not suggested Flowers was intentionally targeting Sotomayor or the security detail. In June 2023, 26-year-old California resident Nicholas John Roske was arrested near Brett Kavanaugh’s home and charged with attempted murder after he told officials he wanted to kill the conservative Supreme Court justice following the leaked draft majority opinion on Roe v. Wade.
